{"id":2076,"date":"2021-02-18T15:50:24","date_gmt":"2021-02-18T15:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expertpr.de\/?p=2076"},"modified":"2021-02-18T16:04:19","modified_gmt":"2021-02-18T16:04:19","slug":"literaturseminar-waleslitgermany-4-6-maerz-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expertpr.de\/gb\/literaturseminar-waleslitgermany-4-6-maerz-2021","title":{"rendered":"Literature Seminar #WalesLitGermany 4-6 March 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>As part of this year\u2019s &#8220;Wales in Germany 2021&#8221; campaign, Literaturhaus Stuttgart, the British Council, Literature Wales and the Welsh Government are jointly organising a virtual literature seminar.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Themed &#8220;We are Wales: disparate voices, landscapes and stories&#8221; the seminar offers literature fans the opportunity to learn about contemporary Welsh and British writers and literature as well as to engage with authors and their works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The online event <strong>#WalesLitGermany<\/strong> is chaired by English novelist Niall Griffiths and Welsh writer and academic Dr. Francesca Rhydderch, featuring readings, workshops, talks and discussions with some of Wales&#8217; best writers, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professor Charlotte Williams OBE<\/strong> was a journalist before devoting herself entirely to writing. Two of her novels about the sympathetic heroine and psychotherapist &#8220;Jessica Mayhew&#8221;, set in Wales, have been published in German.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zo\u00eb Brigley<\/strong> is a young Welsh poet and editor of the leading Welsh poetry magazine \u201cPoetry Wales\u201d. She was awarded the &#8220;Eric Gregory Award&#8221; for her poetry and nominated for the prestigious &#8220;Dylan Thomas Prize&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manon Steffan Ros<\/strong>, Welsh author, has published screenplays, over twenty children&#8217;s books and three adult novels in Welsh. Her award-winning novel &#8220;Blasu&#8221; has been translated into English under the title &#8220;The Seasoning&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professor Richard Gwyn <\/strong>published numerous novels, poetry and prose collections before becoming Chair of Creative and Critical Writing at Cardiff University in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will also be an evening event with poetry, film screenings by the National Dance Company Wales and music, hosted by BBC Wales presenter Gary Raymond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The virtual <strong>#WalesLitGermany<\/strong> seminar will take place on Zoom in English, with some reading in Welsh, for which English translation is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dates<\/strong>: Thursday, 4 March, 17:30 \u2013 20:15; Friday, 5 March, 14:00 \u2013 21:30, Saturday, 6 March, 12:00 \u2013 18:15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminar offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the Welsh language.
