As part of the themed year “Wales in Germany 2021”, Wales is organising an online cooking event for all Wales fans and friends of good food on 6 July 2021 from 17:00 to 18:00 (BST), celebrating the diverse Welsh cuisine – to cook-along, to try later or just to enjoy watching.
Cookbook author Nerys Howell and Sian Roberts, TV presenter and owner of Loving Welsh Food, will cook together and show step by step how to prepare four typical Welsh dishes:
- Glamorgan Sausages (vegetarian)
- Welsh lamb cutlets, lemon crumb and laver relish
- Mussels, bacon and leek
- Welsh Cakes
The small Aber Falls Distillery based in North Wales will be preparing matching cocktails.
The event will be held mostly in English on Zoom, but questions can be asked in German via the chat function.
Tuesday, 6 July 2021, 17:00 – 18:00 (BST)

The cook-along is a wonderful opportunity to sample a taste of Welsh cuisine. There has been a lot happening in the Welsh cooking scene for years. Using old traditional recipes, modern dishes and menus are being created and the Welsh are reflecting on their high-quality food and products.
The “Wales in Germany 2021” themed year was launched by the Welsh Government to celebrate the good relations between the two countries and to further develop the connections.
